Privacy Policy
The privacy notice and website terms that sit behind every booking.
Birmingham Legionella controls the personal data described in this notice. The notice covers information collected through birminghamlegionella.co.uk when someone books a legionella risk assessment.
We learn nothing about you unless you complete the booking page. That page collects your name, a phone number or email address, the location of the building to be assessed, and a short description of the water system. Basin runs the form and forwards the submission to us. Keep your description to the assessment itself. Do not include health details or information about anyone else unless the booking cannot proceed without it.
The details you send are used to pass your request to the firm that performs the legionella risk assessment. That firm will get in touch with you itself. From the point it receives your details, it controls how they are used and answers for that use. Your information is never sold by us.
UK GDPR requires a lawful basis for handling personal data. We use legitimate interests to read and act on your booking request and to send it to the firm that carries out the assessment. If we ask for consent for anything optional, you may withdraw it whenever you wish. We may also process details to take steps you ask for before a booking is confirmed.
Your details stay with us only while we need them to handle your request and pass it to the specialist. Once that purpose is finished, we remove them, unless a legal duty requires us to keep something longer. The specialist holds its own copy and sets its own retention period.
Under UK GDPR you have several rights. You may ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, which is the right of access. You may ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, which is the right to correction. You may ask us to delete your information in certain cases, which is the right to erasure. You may object to our use of your information, which is the right to object. You may ask us to limit how we use your information, which is the right to restrict use. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the enquiry form. We may need to verify your identity first.
Cookies are small files placed on your device. This site uses them to keep the pages working and to understand how visitors move around the site. You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies. If you refuse essential cookies, the booking page may not function correctly.
For any question about this notice or about how your personal information is handled, please use the enquiry form. That form is also the way to make a data protection request.
